“ The salmon ikura don was a bit pricy for 4 pieces of salmon and ikura for $28. It was yummy though and generous amount of wasabi. Just wish there were more salmon. The pork katsu curry was very generous thick cut pork pieces, breaded well but the pork was a little tough/overcooked but understandable since we did a takeout order to picnic at Dolores Park. The curry was flavorful with spices, the rice was cooked perfectly. Friendly staff for prompt pickup. ”

“ Came here for our friend's bday because we have a handroll tradition, and was impressed by the fish! We got mainly salmon, ikura, tuna, unagi, and scallop -- Fish quality was great!! There was plenty of seating inside, and it was fairly empty on a Sunday evening so the service was pretty fast. Our servers were very attentive. The only tiny downside was that the lettering of the menus were run down, to the point of slowing down the ordering process. It was definitely very aesthetic (menus were a paper scroll vibe) and matched the rest of the nice styling of the restaurant, but a lot of squinting was involved bc they also just had an extensive menu! We also got lucky with an extra unagi handroll on the house - little things like this add a lot to the experience, so super thankful. ”

“ I always love a late night option on Valencia for sushi! I've heard about the curry at this spot from a coworker and wanted to try it out. I went with a couple of friends and we were seated relatively quickly considering the dinner rush, which surprised me vs having to wait it out for a spot. The interior is a blend of styles with some variation in seating options. Loved the homemade ginger ale, but fair warning: stir it really well! When it arrived, the bottom was pure ginger and the top was just fizzy water. For my main, I got the pork katsu curry. The curry itself was very flavorful, and has to go with the rice. I was a little disappointed with the katsu. The pork was juicy, but the breading wasn't as crispy as I would have liked. My friend ordered the salmon chazuke, which looked absolutely amazing. I'm definitely going to try that next time! I wasn't sure what to expect for the prices, but the portion sizes were on the generous side, and we had to to-go part of the food. The service was friendly, with only some trouble getting our bill at the end of the meal. ”

“ I appreciate that there is a sushi place open up late on weekdays! My friends and I were wrapping up a night event and needed a place to eat at for dinner. Luckily, we were able to be seated and accommodated right away. The interior of the restaurant is very pretty and nicely decorated, so we took some time to absorb the atmosphere before we ordered. Their menu has a variety of options, which made it difficult to decide on what to order. Everyone ordered something different and we were able to try each other's food. I ordered the Passionfruit Lemonade, Hamachi Carpaccio, Zombie Chef Roll, and Salmon Tasting to share with my boyfriend. The lemonade was sweet and refreshing, you can tell that it was homemade. The carpaccio was delicious, especially with the truffle oil. The roll was okay, it didn't really blow our minds like the carpaccio did. Lastly, the salmon tasting was delicious, but it made us realize we're not that big fans of Ikura. The servers were nice and very attentive to our table! I would definitely want to come back to try out the rest of their menu ”

“ My favorite Japanese for food and vibes. Echigos reminds me of cafes in Japan decor wise which is a vibe you don't usually get in Japanose places in the Bay. The fish is impeccable but the star for me is their udon dishes. Both the mentaiko udon and the lobster udon are my favorite noodle dishes of all time in SF. Also love their ochazukes. Haven't had a bad thing here. I also like their coconut hojicha. Very underrated imo, but the perfect chill place to have a date or a date with girlfriends. ”
